Gwen Thornhill

Gwen's long relationship with yoga began in high school, Sri Lanka. From her first introduction to the practice, she knew it would become an essential part of her life. Being actively involved in sports throughout her life in Track & Field, pole fitness and yoga, Gwen has a great understanding of how it works, and how a suitable yoga practice can compliment other physical activities.

Gwen comes from a background in the corporate world. Graduating with a Bachelor in Commerce from The University of Sydney, and previously working in banking for 7 years in both Sydney and Singapore, Gwen knows first hand of yoga’s transformative effects from high-stress environments. While immersed in the corporate world, she felt a burning desire to break out and find meaningful work; which led her to undertake 500hr Yoga Alliance certified teacher training course in Dharamsala, India in 2013. After which, Gwen moved on to teaching studio group classes in Sydney and Singapore.

On top of the traditional branches of yoga, Gwen also has keen interest in pre and post natal care for mothers, having been blessed with two young boys. Her first pregnancy in 2014 inspired her to further-study and obtained a Diploma in Pre-and-Post-Natal Yoga Teacher Training (IYTA); the study and practice of which proved instrumental during both natural childbirths.

Understanding the healing potential of yoga on physical, emotional and energetic levels, Gwen also possesses an ever increasing fascination in other healing modalities such as intuitive healing therapy, psychotherapy, Family Constellation, Applied Kinesiology, Reiki and The Bodytalk System.
