- Better stress management
- Increased confidence, self esteem and self acceptance
- Increased compassion, and kindness for others
- Deeper connection with the natural world around them
- Provides an alternative to the constant attachment to electronic devices
- Supports positive mental health in children
CHOOSING YOUR FIRST CLASS
For Mums & Bubs class, we suggest mums come 4-6 weeks postpartum, or whenever you have received the official go ahead from your doctor. Bring whatever you need for both you and baby to get comfortable in the class e.g. toys, bottles, extra change of clothes, diapers, prams etc. Our Mums & Bubs classes are meant to be a supportive environment for new mothers, so please do not worry about baby crying. Remember, everyone in class has a baby and they all have different needs at different times.
Feel free in the support of the class, to breastfeed, bottle-feed, change diapers, or comfort them at any point in time. If your baby falls asleep (as many do in the warmth and lull of the class), that's completely fine as well. You are welcome to bring a towel for your baby to lay on. We welcome babies from infant (4 weeks) until crawling age (12 months or more). You may also choose to leave baby at home and focus on your own practice.
Parents are welcome to join in Toddler Yoga. For our Kids Yoga and Teen Yoga classes, it is a drop-off program. As children all grow and advance at different speeds, the intention is to stay true to what is best for your child. Our teachers are also available to discuss what works best for your child.
Consistency is key for establishing this mindfulness based practice into your child's life. We recommend a minimum of 1 to 2 times a week.
WHAT WILL I NEED TO BRING?
Our studios have everything that is needed for your child's practice, including yoga mats, blocks, straps, fully equipped showers and lockers for safekeeping.
We recommend to wear something that is light and comfortable for clothing.
DO I NEED TO BOOK?
ARRIVING FOR CLASS
All classes start and end on time. Please arrive 15 minutes before class to give your child enough time to get ready.
Out of respect for the other children and the energy created for the space, we ask you to ensure your child stays for the full session unless absolutely necessary.
EATING BEFORE PRACTICE
We suggest a light snack before class where needed, rather than a full meal.
WHERE ARE THE CLASSES HELD
Mini Glow Yoga Club is a dedicated wellness club for children, held at Hom Yoga. All classes are held at the Orchard Central location.
